Rationale

A 2/2 ETB-mills-four that taps an opponent's creature whenever you cast a spell from your graveyard, flipping into a 3/1 flying Spirit via Disturb. The front face fuels self-mill/graveyard synergies and softly taps down threats when graveyard spells are cast; the back face is a persistent evasive beater that exiles itself instead of hitting the graveyard, enabling repeated disturb castings. Best in Brawl self-mill or graveyard-matters shells; not legal in Commander.

Learnings (3)

  • The back face (Departed Soulkeeper) replaces graveyard placement with exile, so it can be cast via Disturb repeatedly each time it's exiled — it never stays in the graveyard to enable further graveyard synergies, which is a hidden anti-synergy with cards that want creatures in the yard.

  • The front face's tap trigger fires on ANY spell cast from your graveyard, including flashback, escape, or other disturb cards — not just this card's own Disturb cost, making it better in spell-heavy graveyard decks.

  • This card is an Arena-only A- variant (rebalanced); it is not legal in paper Commander formats, only in Brawl on Arena.
