Rationale

Annie Joins Up is a 4cmc legendary enchantment that fires a 5-damage ETB removal shot against any creature or planeswalker an opponent controls, then doubles every triggered ability on your legendary creatures for as long as it remains in play. The ETB ping is strong removal for the cost, and the doubling static is a build-around combo/value engine in legendary-heavy shells (Jetmir, Isshin, Wyll-style commanders whose triggers already win the game). The pip spread (R/G/W) limits it to Naya or near-Naya Commander shells. Fits best in legendary-matters or any commander whose triggered ability is already a win condition.

Learnings (3)

  • Annie Joins Up's trigger-doubling static works on ANY triggered ability of a legendary creature you control — not just attack or ETB triggers — meaning passive upkeep triggers (e.g., Omnath, Locus of Mana) or opponent-affecting triggers also fire twice.

  • The ETB 5-damage clause is a separate triggered ability that is NOT itself doubled by Annie's own static (the static only doubles triggers on legendary *creatures*, and Annie is an enchantment, not a creature).

  • In Brawl this card is weaker than Commander not because of the 1v1 dynamic but because the legendary density required to make the doubling static shine is harder to maintain in a 100-card singleton format with only one opponent — the removal clause is the primary draw there.
