Rationale
Aang is a 4-mana 3/2 flier whose ETB airbends (soft-exiles) a nonland permanent, giving its owner the option to recast it for {2} — a tempo removal effect that delays rather than permanently answers threats. His Lesson trigger granting lifelink is narrow (Lesson spells are a Strixhaven-specific subset), making it incidental. He fits tempo and control shells that want repeatable disruption, and flicker strategies can rebuy the ETB for repeated soft-removal. The airbend effect is notably friendly to opponents since they can cheaply recast the permanent.
Learnings (3)
Airbend is a soft-removal mechanic: the exiled permanent's owner can recast it for {2}, so it functions as tempo disruption rather than permanent removal — opponents often get their piece back cheaper than they paid for it.

The Lesson trigger is extremely narrow in Commander/Brawl since Lesson spells are a limited Strixhaven keyword pool not typically included in most 100-card singletons; building around it requires intentional deck construction.

Flickering Aang (e.g. with Conjurer's Closet or Ephemerate) generates repeated ETB airbend triggers, effectively locking a target out of play each turn for only {2} ransom — a meaningful soft-stax loop in flicker shells.
