Rationale

A 5/5 for 4 with four triggered abilities tied to spell colors — casting any white/blue/red/green spell triggers token creation, scry 2, 3 damage to a player, or a +4/+4 pump respectively. Signature in 4-color spellslinger and midrange shells where all four triggers fire naturally; the pip-heavy RGWU cost restricts it to decks that can reliably cast it. Weak in focused mono/dual-color lists and punished hard by removal since the whole engine is commander-centric.

Learnings (3)

  • All four triggers are 'whenever you CAST' — they go on the stack immediately on casting the spell, before it resolves, so Aragorn's triggers fire even if the spell is countered.

  • The red trigger deals 3 damage to 'target opponent' specifically (not any target), making it irrelevant in multiplayer if you want to hit a non-opponent or a planeswalker.

  • Aragorn's pip requirements (one each of R, G, W, U) effectively require a 4-color manabase; in Commander he usually IS the commander enabling the 4-color identity, so the mana restriction is self-referential.
