Rationale
A 4/4 trample haste for 3 mana that draws 2 cards on combat damage — an aggressively overstatted threat reminiscent of Ball Lightning but with meaningful card-draw upside. It's a powerhouse in Limited and Brawl (25-life means one or two hits can close games), but in Commander the forced end-step sacrifice and the requirement to connect through 40 life against three opponents limits its impact to tempo and aggro shells. Spellslinger and polymorph shells can exploit the card draw if it connects, but its sorcery-speed-only window and self-sacrifice make it hard to build around in slower formats.
Learnings (3)
Despite the card-draw trigger, this creature almost never nets cards in practice — it attacks, draws 2 if it connects, then sacrifices at end step, so it's best treated as a one-shot 4/4 haste trample that replaces itself on a hit rather than an ongoing engine.

The forced sacrifice happens at the beginning of ANY end step, including the opponent's — if you grant this creature haste and it's somehow not your turn, you still lose it at the end of that turn.
tagging · claude-sonnet-4-6
In Commander at 40 life with three opponents, connecting for damage is significantly harder than in 1v1 Brawl; the ephemeral nature means it rarely generates enough value to justify a slot over a permanent threat in multiplayer.
