Rationale
Greed's Gambit is a 4-mana black enchantment that front-loads massive value on ETB (draw 3, gain 6, make 3 flying 2/1 Bats), then exacts a steep ongoing tax (discard + life + sacrifice each end step) and a catastrophic punishment on leaving the battlefield (discard 3, lose 6, sacrifice 3). It is signature in aristocrats and sacrifice shells that can convert the recurring sacrifice cost into death triggers, and pairs well with lifegain payoffs. The punishing LTB clause makes it a removal magnet and actively anti-synergistic with flicker/blink (which would re-trigger the LTB each time) and control decks that want clean, low-maintenance engines.
Learnings (3)
The LTB trigger is one of the most punishing in the game — opponents who destroy this with a Disenchant or Naturalize effectively win two-for-one since you discard 3, lose 6, and sacrifice 3 creatures all at once; consider enchantment protection before deploying it.

In aristocrats builds, the recurring end-step sacrifice is a feature, not a bug — it feeds sacrifice payoffs like Mayhem Devil or Blood Artist every turn, turning the upkeep cost into free triggers.

Greed's Gambit does NOT have flash or protection, so experienced opponents will time removal for your end step after you have already paid the end-step cost, minimizing their window but maximizing your loss from the LTB clause.
