Rationale
Loot is a 3cmc Temur legendary that exiles X cards from the top of your library each upkeep (X = number of card types among other nonland permanents) and lets you play them that turn — a powerful repeatable impulse-draw engine. In decks running diverse permanent types (artifacts, enchantments, creatures, planeswalkers), X quickly reaches 4–5, making it a defining midrange and toolbox card. Fragile at 1/2 but protected by Ward {1}; the ability only fires if Loot survives to upkeep, so it's meaningfully commander-dependent.
Learnings (3)
The card types counted are among OTHER nonland permanents you control, so Loot itself does not contribute to X — building diverse nonland permanent types (artifact, enchantment, creature, planeswalker, battle) is essential to maximize value.

Exiled cards can only be played 'this turn,' so having access to sufficient mana on your upkeep-to-main-phase window is critical; extra mana sources or mana doublers synergize strongly.

In Temur shells with artifacts, enchantments, and planeswalkers alongside creatures, X routinely hits 4-5 by turn 5-6, making Loot one of the most efficient impulse-draw engines available at 3 mana.
