Rationale
Null Summoner is a 4/2 for 4 that on ETB (if cast) exiles the best nonland card from an opponent's hand — strong immediate disruption — and then with threshold (7+ cards in graveyard) lets you cast that exiled card with any mana. In 1v1 Brawl it functions as a two-for-one: Thoughtseize-on-a-body plus conditional free-cast of their best spell, making it tier-1 there. In multiplayer Commander, the hand disruption hits only one opponent and graveyard threshold is a meaningful setup cost, landing it at tier-2. Signature in self-mill and graveyard-matters shells that reach threshold reliably.
Learnings (3)
The threshold clause grants cast rights from exile permanently — if you reach 7+ cards in your graveyard later in the game, even after several turns, you can still cast the exiled card with any color mana.

In Commander, the ETB condition says 'if you cast it' — flickering or reanimating Null Summoner does NOT retrigger the hand disruption, making recursion loops less abusive than they appear.

The stolen card is cast (not just played), so it triggers spell-cast payoffs in your deck (e.g. spellslinger effects) but also is subject to counterspells.
