Rationale

3cmc red sorcery that discards a card to draw two and create a Treasure — net card-neutral (discard 1, draw 2, -1 for the spell itself) with a Treasure bonus for mana fixing. Fits treasure-matters and low-power spellslinger shells as a cantrip-plus, but the discard cost and sorcery speed make it merely fringe in Commander and Brawl where stronger draw and treasure generators exist. Most relevant in precon/core bracket play where cheap sorcery cantrips and incremental Treasure are appreciated.

Learnings (3)

  • Despite appearing card-positive (discard 1, draw 2), the net card parity is zero since the spell itself costs a card — the real upside is the free Treasure token for mana acceleration.

  • The discard-a-card additional cost makes this a marginal discard outlet for graveyard or reanimator strategies that want to pitch specific cards, though sorcery speed limits its reliability.

  • In Limited, this is a solid common — card-neutral draw plus a mana-fixing Treasure is genuinely useful in a 40-card format with scarce fixing, rating it tier-2 there even though it's fringe in constructed singleton formats.
