Rationale
Tatsunari is a 3cmc 3/3 ninja that creates Keimi, a 3/3 Frog token, on the first enchantment cast each game (until Keimi dies), then uses Keimi's triggered ability to drain each opponent 1 life and gain 1 life per subsequent enchantment cast. It functions as the enchantment-matters commander/engine piece in Sultai (BUG), pairing a growing life-swing clock with evasion-grant for aggressive finishes. It requires a dedicated enchantment shell to reach its ceiling.
Learnings (3)
Keimi's drain trigger fires on EVERY enchantment cast (not just the first), so enchantment-heavy decks generate massive life-swing quickly — the 'if you don't control Keimi' clause is only on the token-creation trigger, not the drain.
tagging · claude-sonnet-4-6
The evasion ability {1}{G/U} grants pseudo-unblockable (flying/reach only) to BOTH Tatsunari and target Frog you control, making Keimi an 18-life clock in Commander if uncontested across three opponents.
tagging · claude-sonnet-4-6
Tatsunari's color identity is BUG (black, green, blue) despite blue appearing only in the activated ability's hybrid cost, which opens a wider card pool than a pure black-green enchantment commander.
