Rationale

A 2-mana legendary artifact that loots on ETB (solid early value) and threatens a one-sided board wipe at {5}+T+exile-self — a sorcery-speed Wrath of God stapled onto a cheap artifact. The ETB loot makes it worth playing even if the nuke never fires; the boardwipe makes it a must-answer threat that pressures creature-based strategies. Signature in control (free loot + emergency reset), stax-prison (holds the board hostage), and reanimator (early discard outlet to pitch targets).

Learnings (3)

  • The boardwipe activation costs {5}+T then exiles the Fulcrum itself, so it's a one-shot reset — build around the loot ETB for recurring value by blinking or replaying it, not just the wipe.

  • At 2 CMC it enters early enough to loot away a reanimation target on turn 2, making it a surprisingly efficient enabler for reanimator strategies that also provide a late-game reset button.

  • Because the Fulcrum is an artifact (sticky resilience vs. creature removal) and colorless, it slots into any Commander deck regardless of color identity — its board-wipe threat warps opponent play even if never activated.
