Rationale
Dion enters as a 3/3 Knight who creates a 2/2 Knight token and grants flying to all your Knights during your turn — solid value in a Knight or go-wide shell. At 6WW sorcery-speed, he transforms into Bahamut, a Saga Dragon that anthems and grants flying to all your creatures on Chapters I and II, then destroys any permanent on Chapter III before resetting. The full package is a self-contained engine: token creation, board-wide evasion/pump, and catch-all removal, making it signature in Knight typal and tokens-go-wide strategies.
Learnings (3)
Bahamut's Saga chapters accumulate each upkeep draw step, so the transform cost of {4}{W}{W} effectively means you need to wait 3 upkeeps after transforming to get the Chapter III removal — sequencing early is important.
tagging · claude-sonnet-4-6
The front face's flying ability ('During your turn, Dion and other Knights you control have flying') is a static ability only active on your turn, so opponents can profitably block all your Knights on their turn.
tagging · claude-sonnet-4-6
Bahamut resets to front face after Chapter III, enabling a long-game loop: each full cycle nets a new 2/2 Knight token (from front face ETB) plus board-wide counters and eventual removal.
