Rationale
Emrakul, the Exigent Doom is a 10-mana 12/12 flying trample with an extremely punishing Ward (sacrifice three permanents), making it nearly impossible to remove once resolved. Its built-in activation lets you exile it from hand for {3} to turn a land into a mana accelerant ({C}{C} per tap), giving it a self-ramp mechanism that can cheat it into play far ahead of curve — effectively acting as a combo piece and ramp engine in one. The cast trigger untaps all your lands, enabling follow-up plays or re-deploying the mana spent to cast it. It is a defining top-end threat in any colorless-friendly ramp or Eldrazi shell.
Learnings (3)
The {3} activated ability exiles Emrakul from your hand and upgrades a land to tap for {C}{C} until it is cast from exile — this means it can be cast from exile the very next turn if you ramp enough, effectively halving its real mana cost in dedicated ramp builds.

Ward—Sacrifice three permanents is one of the most punishing ward costs printed; even boardwipe-heavy control decks struggle to answer it cleanly because the sacrifice precedes the wipe resolving.

The cast trigger (untap all lands) fires off the stack when you cast it from exile, meaning you can immediately use those lands for other spells or abilities in the same main phase — unlike most 'when cast' untap effects, this can lead to Turn 7-8 kills in dedicated ramp shells.
