Rationale
Hashaton is a 2-mana legendary Zombie Wizard that rewards discarding creature cards by offering to copy them as 4/4 black Zombie tokens (tapped) for an additional {2}{U}. It functions as a discard-outlet payoff engine in Esper reanimator/wheels/zombie shells where you are already discarding creatures; the token-copy ability can generate huge value when discarding bombs but requires a consistent discard engine AND the extra 3-mana payment each trigger, making it firmly build-around. The tapped token clause prevents immediate combat impact, and the 1/3 body does little on its own.
Learnings (3)
The token created by Hashaton retains all abilities of the discarded creature card (ETBs, keywords, etc.) but becomes a 4/4 black Zombie — meaning you can discard a high-power ETB creature, pay {2}{U}, and immediately trigger its ETB on the copied token.
tagging · claude-sonnet-4-6
The {2}{U} payment is optional and per-trigger, so in a wheels/discard-many shell you can selectively pay only for the best creatures discarded in a given loop, conserving mana.
tagging · claude-sonnet-4-6
Hashaton enables a soft reanimator-style gameplan without needing the graveyard — discarded creatures go to the graveyard as normal but the token is created independently, so graveyard hate does not stop the token production.
