Rationale
Metalwork Colossus is an 11-mana 10/10 construct whose cost is reduced by the total mana value of noncreature artifacts you control, making it effectively free or near-free in artifact-heavy shells. Its self-recursion (sacrifice two artifacts to return from graveyard to hand) provides resilience and combo potential in artifact-matters decks, but it requires significant artifact density to be castable and has no evasion or built-in protection despite its size.
Learnings (3)
Metalwork Colossus can be cast for free as early as turn 3-4 in dedicated artifact shells (e.g. with Darksteel Forge, Gilded Lotus, Thran Dynamo), making it a surprise threat in artifact-matters EDH despite its nominal 11 mana cost.

The self-recursion requires sacrificing two artifacts, which synergizes with aristocrats-style artifact sacrifice loops — notably, it can be part of an infinite loop with two 0-cost artifacts and a sacrifice outlet that recurs artifacts from the graveyard.

Because cost reduction is based on noncreature artifacts only, creature-heavy artifact decks (e.g. modular or artifact-creature tribal) will find it far harder to reduce its cost than decks running mana rocks, vehicles, and equipment.
