Mindbreak Trap is a 4cmc instant that exiles any number of target spells on the stack; if an opponent cast 3+ spells this turn, it costs {0}. Its primary home is blue control and anti-storm/combo shells — it is the premier free counter against Storm, cascade chains, and fast combo turns where opponents chain multiple spells. The free-cast condition is common in cEDH (brackets 4-5) and optimized play (bracket 3), but in Brawl the single-opponent dynamic means 3-spell turns are rarer and the card often sits as a dead draw.
