Rationale
Sheoldred is a 5cmc 4/5 menace Praetor that forces opponents to sacrifice a nontoken creature or planeswalker on ETB, then can transform into The True Scriptures if an opponent has 8+ cards in their graveyard — a Saga that mass-destroys creatures/PWs, strips three cards from each opponent's hand and mills three more, then culminates in a game-winning mass reanimation of all creature cards from all graveyards before resetting to Sheoldred. The front face alone is a premier midrange/control threat; the Saga back is a near-instant win condition. Signature in reanimator and graveyard-matters shells where the transform condition is easiest to meet, and powerful enough for control and midrange as a standalone threat.
Learnings (3)
The transform activation on Sheoldred requires an opponent to have 8+ cards in their graveyard, so running mill support (Traumatize, Mesmeric Orb, wheels) dramatically accelerates the path to The True Scriptures.
tagging · claude-sonnet-4-6
Chapter III of The True Scriptures puts ALL creature cards from ALL graveyards onto the battlefield under your control — this includes your opponents' graveyards, making it a game-winning mass reanimation even if your own graveyard is empty.

Sheoldred resets to front-face-up after Saga exile, meaning repeated transform cycles are theoretically possible in the same game if the graveyard condition is met again, though the 5BB activation cost is steep.
